This post and particularly the ml comnents are again the worst propaganda: low quality, sowing division, inciting anger - it’s the propagandists’ recipe to destroy a community.

The Raoul Wallenberg Centre For Human Rights welcomes Canada’s recent announcement of additional sanctions against the Iranian regime

The announced sanctions target individuals and entities with ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp’s weapons production and transfers of arms and technology to malign actors, including to Russia for use in its war against Ukraine.

Canada must now address the Islamic Republic of Iran’s escalating domestic repression and flagrant human rights abuses.

A reminder that Scotty here is projecting as usual since spreading racist propaganda to sow hatred and division is his specialty. https://lemmy.ml/post/39655060

Canada, which practices literal slavery according to the UN and runs an apartheid state where First Nations rights are not respected, has no business sanctioning other countries on human rights, and should instead address grave human rights concerns domestically:

Same arguments can be used to counter the anti-Chinese inflammatory comments being used to deny China-Canada trade.

The Raoul Wallenberg Centre For Human Rights welcomes Canada’s recent announcement of additional sanctions against the Iranian regime

I did a bit of research on this “Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights” and what I’ve found is fucking dire. Literally all you have to do to discover their clear Israeli bias is to google “raoul wallenberg centre for human rights palestine”. See below:

https://nationalpost.com/opinion/opinion-palestine-recognition-would-reward-terrorism-and-contradict-international-law This opinion piece is from the “international chair” of the Raoul Wallenberg centre, and it argues that recognition of a Palestinian state “rewards terrorism.” This opinion piece is from last September, when the genocide in Gaza had been going on for almost 2 years.

Regarding the situation in Palestine, they seem to mostly be condemning Hamas, calling for sanctions on Hamas, calling for the release of Israeli hostages, etc. They’ve put out a couple press releases regarding the starvation in Gaza, which I would interpret as face saving measures. They called for immediate humanitarian aid to Gaza, which is good, but also costs them nothing because Israel has consistently blocked humanitarian aid and doesn’t need to listen to their puppet NGOs.

One of their press releases stated with regards to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza that “now is not the time to argue over who bears responsibility for this calamity”, which is interesting because they don’t seem to have any issue with naming the perpetrators of atrocities in any other scenario. Their website has a section called Genocide Inquiries which details the supposed genocides in Ukraine and Xinjiang, as well as the genocide in Sudan perpetrated by the RSF, but completely ignores the most documented (both in terms of stated intent and in effect) genocide in history. Interesting, no?

To conclude, this is pro-Israel dogshit. Don’t throw this NGO bullshit in front of us and pretend like it has any kind of moral or intellectual authority.

Canada has no right to talk about human rights after the first Nations and residential schools.

I mean, isn’t the whole point of Truth and Reconciliation to talk about human rights and action that promotes it moving forward?

And then send weapons to Israel so it can commit genocide in Gaza.
