Definitely a pessimist here but its mostly worked out well for me. Eg i assumed there would be no social security when i was older so i started investing small amounts when i got my first job. That compounded and I managed to retire at 40, am now 60.
Over a decade ago , experts said climate change was going to make it worse where i lived, so I moved thousands of miles to a safer spot. They’ve since had massive floods and friends homes were inundated. It’s now so hot and humid they complained endlessly when I catch up.
Evidence based pessimism I guess ? :).
But then I enjoy sitting on my quiet balcony, on the edge of my tiny rural village, reading a book with my like minded partner. So always been a bit “divergent” in that respect.
