The thing about Flat Earth is that it heavily emphasizes a material conspiracy elaborately upheld by the world order in a way that wasn’t true of, for example, geocentrism (which was violently upheld, but didn’t undermine basic facets of society in the same way as, for example, ideas about falsified air travel does for Flat Earth).
