In addition, a new disease registry is being launched to track Americans with autism, which will be integrated into the data.

Making a big ol’ list of autistic people, surely nothing bad can come of this.

Plenty of sus shit so far in this administration, but IMO this is the sussiest of them all.

It’s quite literally nazi shit, and ultimately this has to be the logical end goal of the whole “vaccines cause autism” discourse, when you pair it with modern antivax bullshit; vaccines are bad for you and they cause autism, therefore autism must be a bad thing.

Add to that the whole recent thing about autistic people not paying taxes and you’ve got one hell of a stew. Things are bad and we can’t provide for everyone, so people who we see as not being productive are therefore undesirable.

While I don’t think the Trump admin is literally copying what Javier Milei is doing, they really do seem to be following along the same path just a year or two behind. And in Argentina, it seems like the austerity is falling hardest on the most vulnerable populations like the elderly.

But there are probably more autistic people who do pay taxes than those that don’t. Can we say the same for businesses?
