      I don’t like this argument

      It should be legal for us to improve our own roads by painting zebra stripes.

      The fact that its chalk just means he did a really shitty job

      Its SIDEWALK CHALK, clearly using on the road is violating the implied Crayola End User Liscensing Agreement. I’m more surprised they haven’t started arresting children for using it on driveways.

      In general, you don’t want people making their own crossroads because they need to be done to codes and in the correct place in order to be safe for pedestrians to use.

      This was obviously a protest though, and I don’t think anyone would mistake it for a real one.

      C’mon. That’s irrelevant. It could be custard, but it is meant to LOOK like road infrastructure. The material used is not relevant. This is effectively a challenge to the city’s authority and ultimately the state’s monopoly on violence demands a response.

      Not to undermine the fuck cars message, but this criticism is invalid. OTOH, so is how the state chose to respond to the challenge, but it’s obvious the people holding those offices are engaging their egos.
