I know I’ve played a game that said “press space to jump” and when you pressed space, you didn’t jump and some NPC starts making fun of you. The game didn’t actually have a jump mechanic.
In Portal 2 you’re supposed to press space to say “Apple” but since it has a silent protagonist you jump instead and are ridiculed for that.
gotta switch to your super-soaker secondary to wash off the ‘wrong’ hints.
I prefer tap shift to run.

Same, my left hand hurts after hours of gameplay, so these days I consider it an accessibility feature and I’m legitimate disappointed when a game doesn’t allow it.
Remapping the shift action to caps lock too.
Accessibility features make all our lives better, and I agree, it’s 100% an accessibility feature.
