“We have a state where our infrastructure is going to be supported, is going to be funded, and is going to be available for the people that need it. If you are able to work, and you’re 28 years old and you choose not to work, you don’t get free health care in America. If you are in this country illegally, you do not get free health care in America.”

Audience members repeatedly shouted, “Tax the Rich! Tax the Rich! Tax the Rich!” as Rep. Flood discussed tax provisions of the megabill like no tax on tips and no tax on overtime.

The congressman pushed back, saying, “If we adopted the Democrats’ plan in the last Congress to tax the rich, it would generate $50 billion, which does not take us close to where we’re going. And it cuts job creation. It cuts business creation. It cuts the ability for employers to invest in their businesses.”

“This bill is a middle-class tax cut,” Rep. Flood said at one point, which received strong pushback and boos from the audience.

Healthcare should have nothing to do with jobs, totally unrelated, but the wealthy got so many of you to believe this is how it should be, that this is normal when it’s not and it sucks! It’s less freedom than healthcare for all, but so many don’t understand that or care about others, because they got theirs, for now. Universal healthcare would be great, other than when the “short-sighted” elect maga again and they sabotage it, as they try to do, to keep it tied to work so your bosses can use it against you lol.

it would generate $50 billion, which does not take us close to where we’re going.

When spending more than you tax, every dollar does take us closer to financial collapse, you gibbering baboon.

Using your logic, taxes should be lowered more, you see. That means even less income, and increased debt. Figure it out, stupid

We can reduce spending whenever we would like to, it’s super easy. But first, we must balance the books at the pentagon

If a business can’t pass an audit, we take action, leading to even liquidation and executive prison sentences. It’s fraud.

Pentagon can’t pass an audit. There’s only one logical response.

If it’s “too big to audit” it needs to be dissolved and broken into smaller organizations until they can pass an audit.

Wat? It would generate $50B, which is not enough, so we decided not to tax them at all and just sell our land to the rich. Waddafak

“Why would we want $50 billion dollars when we can spend even more on an unpopular war that raises prices?” (Huge corps that wouldn’t be able to afford anything if we took away a dollar from their bottom line.)

“This bill is a middle-class tax cut,” Rep. Flood said at one point, which received strong pushback and boos from the audience.

“I only care about the middle-class. Fuck any of you who are poor!” (Gives money to the mega-rich.)

lol f u choose not to work.

There are a million reasons someone might not be able to find a job, why should society say f u while you look for work? Jesus we would all be way more productive if we could stay healthy all the time, this healthcare argument is all about control and leverage over workers, it’s not about fairness in any way.

Republicans only do one thing typically and that is lie, lie, lie.

That party needs to burn to the ground and we need to reboot America.

As a nebraskan, the only reason flood ever won was because of the R next to his name on the ballot.

Usually is, current senate race in the state has some chances cause it’s Ricketts ® vs Osborne (I). And ricketts is like, REALLY hated, Osborne is trying to distance himself from both parties which imo is a smart move in nebraska
