i will do so only after Israel is destroyed, until then I’m keeping my options open. What if a different religious sect ends up dealing the final blow? Buddhism with the steel chair

A few years ago I jokingly said I would convert if Iran and friends liberated Mecca, because in that case they obviously are enjoying the divine mandate, but with how Yemen and AA has been moving lately I’m worried I may have to start looking into it and pick up a khat addiction for good measure

The deeds of the liberators amplify the appeal day by day, and the efforts of the child-killers to astroturf islamophobia only make it look cooler

No, but they’re dope AF. Standing on business. They make Sunis look like chumps.

I’ve always had my eye on Muqtada AlSadr, like he’s going to be a great commander in huge struggle.

Ok, but philosophically/theologically, what distinguishes Shia Islam from Sunni Islam?

I know the usual differences given, which is disagreements about who would succeed the prophet Muhammad, and the lines of Shia imams (usually 12, but I think it’s only 8, if you’re yemeni).

But like… In terms of belief and practice, tf does all that mean, on terms of differences between sects?

Shia have a more centralised authority on fiqh and religious matters (Insofar as those are separate matters). While calling an ayatollah or a marja a “pope” is misleading, they still form a recognised and recognisable source of religious rulings.

Also theres different holidays they stand slightly differently while praying and there’s a difference in when prayers are made iirc.

There’s also some stuff that’s unique to various shia sects that’s different from sunni practises. Like using a prayer stone is a twelver thing.
