I ran out of oat milk today, so instead I put my tea bag in my oat meal. It’s fine. Just teaffeinated oatmeal.
Still going to the café tho, I worked a foofighters show a few days ago so it’s also fine. IT’S FINE.
It’s very inexpensive and not particularly difficult to make your own oat milk, and I like it better than what you buy in stores. I use this recipe.
LOL I have this exact page bookmarked. Working up to making my own but not enough spoons rn, as it were.
*I can also buy amylase at a local bulk store, which might also get rid of the slimyness (converts starch to sugars).
Yeah it’s tough. Making oat milk is easy enough that it is spoon positive for me – I feel more rested and relaxed because I made something and I feel accomplished – but learning to make oat milk costs a lot of spoons, especially because so much of avoiding sliminess comes down to moving quickly, which is hard to do when you’re first learning. May the spoon gods bless you with many spoons and delicious oat milk lattes.
