Glad to see ppl in the YouTube space take up this mantle. Health Communism was a lovely and revealing read and the discourse seems to be getting more toxic by the month as people who’ve never considered any of these ideas let alone read it decide its finally time to liquidate the overly woke.

Cth’s recent foray into this might honestly be what gets me to finally stop listening to chapo entirely even for occasional entertainment

Right there with you. Last few episodes its been “double down when they call you an antisemite! Their framing of the issue is pure crybullying! Any concesion will lead only to further demands!” And then 5 minutes later with 0 self awareness “Obviously the right is correct about ‘woke 1’ (whatever the fuck that means) and we must concede to their bigoted demands which are actually common sensical and really why did we let them talk in the first place?” Im starting to think maybe Will really is a cia plant after all.

Will coming in with the ‘America deserved 9/11 but New York City didn’t’ made me laugh and turn off the episode which is the only way to listen to cth at this point. The fur trading colony that became a center of east coast trade for centuries after it switched to slave trading is some how more pure than the rest of the society built on slavery because you grew up there and like movies set there

This and the bar situation were both things I saw floating around the edges of my feed and I intentionally didn’t look into either of them based on the content creators I saw talking about them. They seemed like such massive bait, like cartoonish-level stuff, just a big ol’ block of cheese sitting under a cardboard box trap type shit. Usually with stuff like this, if you just give it a minute to air out, you’ll discover just how off base the early commentary is. I mean, if right-wing rags are begging you to talk about it, then maybe don’t and do some investigation first.

But that’s not how the algorithm works; you have to be first and have the hottest takes!

First time i’ve come across that dysgenic clip, I can see how people viewing it with no skepticism fell for it though. Maybe “fitness” should not be used to describe fitting into bourgeois interests.

I’ve seen the rest and agree with her pretty much on all of them. Very good video that I’ll probably be able to reshare to libs buying into some of this shit.

I think “fitness” is fine here, and if anything is working in favor of the left more than people think it is. In this context, “fitness” relates back to the biological understanding of “fitness” but through the “social Darwinist” lens. They are taking “fitness” in this way and using it as a vehicle to critique eugenic thinking that is baked into capitalist society. The idea that people who rise the ranks of the capitalist ladder are simply the winners of the “survival of the fittest” game of capitalist life.

People who hold these brain worms or otherwise do not understand the biological concept of “fitness” and its misapplication by supporters of eugenics to human society will find themselves in the trap that’s being discussed in this video.

This is why I think using it is good, because there are people on “the left” who still hold onto eugenic thinking and still hold onto anti-natalist thinking (which is a form of eugenic thinking), who need to have these ideas confronted. Right-wingers are going to attach themselves to this regardless of how you self-police your language because they already believe disabled people should be culled anyway. If they had used the phrase “compatibility with capitalism” or something else, it would likely sidestep or weaken the critique of eugenics that they are trying to build.

It’s usage has exposed people on “the left” in ways that should be confronted, in their uncritical view of who is reporting this “outrage” and for their latent eugenic thinking.

When Medicare work requirements make disability rights one of the most acute and pressing issues for the American left, when there is a policy that could bring disability rights activists further left (who skew very left just as a matter of personal experience), we will be desensitized by the discourse between Hasan and a bunch of other streamers who get clout by shitting on him.

Let’s prepare for the coming struggle offline where we might actually be effective

I don’t need help to be against myself.
