I’m sure there’s numbers & graphs that tell the story, but it’s hard to really convey just how much purchasing power we’ve lost. Things like owning a home & having kids with only a single income - yeah, that was normal. And now it’s gone.
My personal example is I was able to buy a new car in the 90s fresh out of college. Today, I’m making more money than ever, and yet somehow a new car just isn’t an option. I’ve been priced out of the market. And it’s like that for… everything.
And yet, somehow my government tells me inflation is fine.
the thing that always gets me is how fucking expensive food has become, i distinctly remember cheeseburgers costing 10 SEK (roughly 1 USD) when i was in school, now just 10 years later it’s DOUBLE THE FUCKING PRICE
it’s- i have no words, “insane” doesn’t even come close to describing how much it fills me with bile.
Following inflation the cost should be 13 SEK now, but that’s what i scoffed at them increasing it to years ago!
I don’t remember him being referred to as fat. Especially not with the literal tons of fat women he insulted at his job.
You literally used literally literally.
By the liter.
So much defeatism! You can still get a house like that for cheap. Just cut out the avocado toast, ask Mom for a six figure loan, then find a gem property in the local airport flight path, next to a slaughterhouse, an AI data center, built on reclaimed landfill, and across the state highway from a pet sematary. You can get it for under a million easy!
That’s what I did, and I’m living the dream. My reanimated dog gets sick every time he drinks from the oily puddles of blood and liquid fat that bubble from the ground constantly, but I did it, I own a home!
Lol very well written! Thank you for the laughs
Peg was hot and wanted to get it on too
Al is a sexy ass man. I’m with her.
You could also but amphetamines over the counter.
really?
Yeah they took them out of cold medicine around 2004 (US). Officially it was out if fear people were using it to create meth.
You could also buy energy pills aimed at long haul truckers, I think they were called yellow jackets.
