  • Russia allegedly gave data on US flights and warned of an impending strike according to Rybar. That's Russian state media though.

Even without any foreign assistance, Maduro should have been safer from obvious things like helicopter raids. A strong enough flashlight and an RPG would do the trick against what has been shown. I'm with the backroom deal theory so far. Maduro gave himself up to Trump and the Bolivaran Republic gets to stick around, something like that.

  • Being in the position where you are counting on the American public to do something about their criminal leadership is not great.

  • Yeah but the demands are to unfuck the economy which is hard to do in the face of crippling US sanctions. The state does, however, need to make that much clear through the media and not make the people the enemy as soon as they pick up a megaphone.

I feel like that's the goal with color revolutions sometimes is to make the state jump at shadows, make the people the enemy, and then the people really do feel like they're the enemy and a real revolution is now on the horizon.

  • It's ok they're not a car company they're a robot company.

    They've sold 0 robots.

    It's ok they're not a robot company they're a robotaxi company.

Missed estimates, need safety drivers in front seat.

You know what it's ok stock go up anyways.

  • Trump posted about Iran protests

"If Iran shots and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go."

The response from Iran draws a red line at this.

❗️Ali Shamkhani, political adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, wrote on X that any foreign attempt to threaten Iran’s security under any pretext will be met with a response, noting that Iranians are well aware of the US’ so-called “rescue” record in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Some more interesting ideas from the Parliament Speaker:

❗️Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that US military bases in the region would be “legitimate targets” for Iran if Washington takes risky or provocative actions against Iran.

Overall, responses from Iran media and gov make an effort to distinguish legitimate protesters (shopkeepers) who are taking a patriotic angle to their protests vs terrorists who have gotten people killed and injured and just sus people in general. I've always wondered how a population can vent their frustrations at their government when there's risk of causing a much worse color revolution. Maybe Iran is figuring that out?

  • I know a lot of protesters who will suddenly have a case against Canary Mission and Betar if filming people doing things in public becomes precedent for doxxing.

  • The biggest excuse they use nowadays is that its a billion dollars in stocks and other assets, and therefore there's nothing anyone can do. As if selling stocks is unheard of. They think we're stupid.

  • I made the mistake of visiting the Argentina subreddit. One thread complaining about Mexicans hating them so much (?) and another revolting one about the Mapuche. What the hell happened to Argentina? Was it always like this?

  • I guess Zuck doesn't want the number of strikes to reach 18....

  • It looks like Labour party is fixing the hearing against Palestine Action

    https://xcancel.com/Jonathan_K_Cook/status/1993417828091711694

Review judge pulled from Palestine Action hearing at last hour, in patent stitch-up:

The High Court judge who granted a legal challenge to the government’s decision to proscribe Palestine Action – the first time in British history a civil-disobedience organisation has been declared a terrorist group, one now treated as on a par with al-Qaeda – has been removed at the last minute.

The judicial review hearing is due to start tomorrow without Justice Martin Chamberlain. He will be replaced with a panel of three judges.

Justice Chamberlain did not suffer any timetabling conflicts. The Justice Ministry declined to offer any explanation for such a highly irregular change.

  • Bedbug Bret has never seen a war he has not wanted to cheerlead

  • They used the One Piece flag in Nepal for a similar protest that successfully overthrew the government there.

  • Oh man he can't be serious this is him in the comments:

I come from a long line of fighters. My maternal grandfather was the toughest guy I ever knew. World War Two veteran killed twenty men and spent the rest of the war in an Allied prison camp. My father battled blood pressure and obesity all his life. Different kind of fight.

  • Using the wrong tool for the job to show those youngins what's what.

  • oops

  • Lemmy.world is a whole instance devoted to this

  • Yeah they don't care about the Platner stuff, being a war vet who "says what's on his mind" is what they're rolling with. Blackwater hardly gets a mention, and I don't expect most Americans to know what that is anyway.

Maybe opposition will drip feed the nasty stuff in Iraq he did, IDK. But otherwise we are getting Bizzaro Fetterman.
