  • As the migrant shelter population has declined in recent years, the city has begun to close migrant-only shelters and transition asylum-seekers to more traditional shelters accommodating all New Yorkers. Starting next year with the closure of the South Bronx site, the city will no longer shelter new arrivals and longtime New Yorkers separately.

The population decline was going to happen as Trump came into office no matter what. Mamdani might as well shut these down as long as the transfer to other shelters go well (we'll see i guess).

It's also a good idea to not leave migrants all in one place for ICE to monitor and terrorize with ease, just a thought.

  • Better late than never. Im not sure what they will be getting in state owned revenues though because the oil laws changed recently under Delcy. Although that is a paper change and the country is still uninvestable by ExxonMobil standards.

  • Peter Thiel is going to run for president i bet.

  • Let that be a lesson to future revolutions, never let your economy hinge on one export industry!

  • Well tbh I don't think it's really working all that well even without a Chinese intervention. Trump wants little wins all over the world, and to feel like a winner all the time.

The more thorough foreign policy decisions are crafted by people like Marco Rubio, and I don't think he really got the result he wanted in Venezuela. The Cuba blockade is a revision of what the USA really wanted, which was regime change in Venezuela.

Similar stories elsewhere, like the Iran strikes. The drawback of flooding the zone is you can't control what the water is doing.

  • I view it as a global version of Steve Bannon's "flooding the zone" strategy. If you just keep throwing new bullshit at your enemies, your enemies have to drop your previous load of bullshit and investigate the new load of bullshit. Leaves enemies in constant panic if nothing else.

    Minnesotans are uncovering FBI honeypots

We have high confidence this is a federal honeypot, with evidence as follows:

1 No one in the community or local firearms communities knows anyone associated with this group. They activated their website ACATUSA on January 10th.

2 Their domain: ACATUSA, has, since the early 2000s, linked directly to the FBI .gov website, and previously presented itself as Armed Citizens Against Terrorism, which also had links for FBI tiplines.

3 Public and private requests for clarity on who this organization is and where they came from have been met with opaque, repetitive responses.

4 Organizations across the political spectrum, from the SRA, Atlas Defense, and the MN Gun Owners Caucus, have all warned against participation in the event.

Do Not Engage with this march. They are requesting people with Permits To Carry identify themselves to the group and march with unloaded firearms *while also stating they will allow “former” law enforcement/military to march with loaded firearms. They are also requesting unarmed people follow and march with them, as well as volunteers to help marchers check in.

The "unloaded firearms for non law enforcement " requirement is quite a tell, if the other 4 points aren't.

    Stay safe out there, folks.

  • Obama will still shake his hand next time they meet, though. I guarantee it.

  • Yeah its this, MicroStrategy recently crossed the point where they can no longer just "keep buying the dip" and Bitcoin actually has to skyrocket in price like Michael Saylor promised else bad things happen to the company. And it has been a year and no moon.

He recently had a temper tantrum in an interview, btw.

  • Someone please post the bass boosted version because it is a subtle toot around 0:35 seconds but he stops the questions after he started I know it.

  • Trump sends the agents to the immigrants doorstep, whereas previous enforcement efforts were focused mostly on the border. Sending in the brownshirts must come at a cost. The early Obama admin also searched and deported prisoners with ICE under a law from Bush Jr. Not sure if Trump brought that back though, it would make sense if he did.

JD Vance's posted about the Obama record and how Obama totally fudged the numbers despite his constituency wanting the opposite numbers lol. But it brings up the question of "what really counts as a deportation" and if a president wants to portray themselves as tough on illegal immigration then they can do so easily.

The Vice President quickly responded to the tweet, writing, “This argument is just entirely fake, for two reasons.”

“1) In the Obama administration, they counted being turned away at the border as a deportation. A person would show up, be sent back, and counted as a deportation. We have to do deportations from the interior of the country because Biden and Harris let them walk in.”

“2) In the cities that are not sanctuary cities, the deportation process is orderly and normal - like most law enforcement. In Minneapolis and a few other sanctuary jurisdictions, local jurisdictions and a few leftwing agitators have decided to wage war on all immigration enforcement officers."

Really though, small business owners are a big constituency of the Republican party. From a Marxist perspective this whole excursion smells of labor discipline on a mass scale. And Dems won't fight against this because workers suddenly having that burden relieved might "ruin the economy".

  • It's not really convincing me, tbh.
