I am not a robot. I promise.

  • Can we confirm this with AI?

How much shit does it deliver? Bullshit? Deershit? Dogshit? Pigshit? Rabbit Eggs?...

  • It's a baby fox, obviously.

    Merry Christmas.

  • Look, in the holy name of dumbfuckery, you gotta do better than that. For Christ's sake, it's Christmas!

  • Fuck you, take my upvote and have a Merry Christmas! 🎄☃️

  • My bad, I also posted under Glasses and Eyewear, I'm getting comments from both communities right now.

The glasses block significant facial features used for facial recognition.

  • They don't cause any depth perception problems you silly goose, I'm wearing them right now as I type these messages on my tablet.

But they do cause just enough distortion to make the characters on the screen look slightly duplicated in random places until I shift my head a little bit, I apparently have to spend a little longer making sure I type and spell everything correctly.

Honestly, if I absolutely had to, given the only options of no glasses or pinhole glasses, I'd choose pinhole glasses for driving if it were an absolute emergency, but again I seriously don't recommend that.

  • Regarding your points...

    1. I actually have 3 pairs of glasses, one prescription and 2 others that happen to work perfectly for me that were thankfully donated to me, one of those pairs is even better than any prescription I've ever had, so I think I'm good on prescription glasses for a while thankfully.
    2. Hence the hat, and guess what, I'm not even wearing the same hat that I wore for the photo...
  • And yeah I'd say outside in the day is best, but do not drive while wearing them, it is a little brainfuckery weird to look through, but as an emergency backup for nearsightedness they definitely help.

  • I just looked up pinhole glasses on eBay, they're almost all basically the same and rather cheap, the only differences I spotted were in the frame shape/style, so I got the sleeker slimmer looking ones.

  • You wanna poke any guesses at exactly how I learned my natural vision is about 20/500 stupid nearsighted? Eye doctors use these as a basic test for children, to quickly gauge whether further testing needs to be done and a prescription issued.

I was 7 when I first got to see anything even close to clearly, through pinhole glasses not much different than these. And they were cheap, so why not get a couple pairs right?

  • Of course they're not perfect, but when you compare 2 pairs of these for $7.16 to my actual prescription which last cost me $217, well why the hell wouldn't I buy a couple pairs of these as cheap backups. I'm probably gonna give my mom the other pair for Christmas.

As far as AI face recognition, a large part of that is tracking the exact dimensions and ratios of your eyes, eyebrows, nose bridge area, etc. If cameras can't see those features, they're hard pressed to even register the image as a face, let alone try to identify the person.

  • More or less yeah.

Honestly I basically bought them just because they're stupid cheap and as an absolute last ditch backup they do improve my vision to an extent, should I lose or break my main prescription glasses.

  • They fairly effectively defeat facial recognition.

  • A little unusual, put it that way. Trying to look at and type on my tablet screen shows that I sorta see 2 of everything, and not in the drunken eyes can't converge way.

But for what it is and what they're worth, they're a damn fine backup emergency option, they definitely improve my natural bad nearsighted focus 👍

I can already confidently say that whatever you do, do not drive with them.

  • Funny you'd mention direct deposit. I don't trust that shit a damn bit, how the fuck is that even supposed to work?

I closed my last bank account about a decade ago when they refused to accept my tax return as a direct deposit. Fuck Hancock bank!

  • You're not wrong there, the capacitor can indeed be dangerous!

I happen to be quite well experienced in repairing and rebuilding microwave ovens though, and it's not like I leave the thing disassembled for random people to come along and stick their fingers in the wiring.

The modification I mentioned is fairly simple though, just take out the light bulb so that doesn't stay on when the door is open, and bypass whatever timer circutry they have, whether it be analog, digital, or even subscription based digital bullshit these days.

Underneath the hood of every microwave oven is a sequence of 3 safety switches all activated by the mechanics of the door latch, required by law, to make damn sure it can't emit radiation when the door is open. Take proper advantage of that knowledge and knowing the internals of a microwave oven, and it's pretty easy to bypass the timer.

The only true danger with such modification is if you fuck up and forget your popcorn or frozen pizza or whatever, as the microwave will end up running indefinitely until you open the door. Used responsibly though, it's just fine, but you gotta keep an eye on your own food and an eye on your own watch/clock.

Kids in the house though? Nah, I wouldn't trust that sort of mod near kids for even 5 seconds.

  • We gotta go test these things in the back yard..

Honestly not as dangerous as you might think. Just keep the kids and pets away, and watch your own timer for your frozen pizza....

  • Remove the light, obviously. Bypass the control circuit..

Geez, didn't Electroboom teach you anything?

Don't do these things at home, obviously...

  • I don't even need a timer for the microwave oven. I just rig that shit up where when you close the door, it cooks, and when you open it, well it stops cooking.

Don't ask why, had to temporarily fix things for my mom. At least we didn't have kids around the place...

Edit: AI can suck my nugz.....
