@ikidd@cm0002 This is the major reason I prefer the lighter desktops, Mate, XFCE, LXDE, LXQT to monstrocities like KDE Plasma, Gnome (especially as configured by Ubuntu, less unpleasant on other distros), and yea, I know that Gnome and KDE can both be configured to not be so obnoxious but time in the day thing.
@bees There have been some recent studies that have solidified the relationship between autism and the MMR vaccine in particular. Gates live Polio vaccine has killed around 500,000 Africans, who knows how many it's maimed, and not to say Polio isn't worth vaccinating against, I have friends who were partially parallelized by it, but if you're killing 500,000 people something is wrong, and one of my children got heart issues after covid vax, further, he at 40 had two vaccines, damage done on the second, had three incidents of covid and the third involved a 102.9 fever, I by contrast got no covid vax, got covid twice, both times it was your average head cold, and the highest fever I had was 99.1, never went down into my lungs, same for my wife and my other son who did not get vaccinated. Vaccines are immensely profitable to the pharmaceutical industry, and just like profit in the military complex keeps wars going even if it means killing and maiming people, so to the pharma profits force unnecessary and dangerous medical interventions.
@ottersraft You get into a situation where law enforcement needs to find something to justify it's existence and interdicting ED drugs is surely safer than fentynal where guns and the like might be involved and people are actually dying.
@Sunshine More likely to cause them than to stop them, at least lightning. It is largely the movement of water droplets that build up the static charge that leads to a lightning discharge. Causing to rain could help the forest fires after they've started, but cloud seeding won't reduce lightning.
@solardirus Yes, RDP, VNC, and SPICE do not USE X redirection so naturally they will work fine, but try this, while you are on one server using wayland, ssh -Y server into another, and then launch xsol or xclock or synaptic or any other X-application.
@solardirus@cm0002 Someone already attempted to make Wayland Network, it's called Wayland on Wires, but it just kind of fizzled. Wayland users aren't real Linux users, they're gamers, outcasts from Windows and they really should have stayed there. Xorg users by contrast are people using Linux to do real work, over the network, which is where X shines and Wayland fails outright, so it is good that XLibre exists.
@cm0002 I find it sad that people act this way but honestly, Redhat has always impressed me as being intrinsically evil, perhaps just slightly less evil than the likes of Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Apple, etc, but evil none the less.
I remember the old days of Xfree86 and the fork that became Xorg, so not the firsttime through this and I look forward to Xlibre becoming a viable and functionalreplacement for Xorg that, unlike Wayland, networks.
@webghost0101 Here are the facts. 100 years ago, Autism rate is 1-in-40000, today it is 1-in-16. The increase in autism has paralleled the increase in vaccines. And the autism rates parallels the vaccination rates in various regions. As I previously stated, this is a casual not a causal relationship, but given the seriousness of the disease and how many it is affecting, it is worth researching the relationship. Only people who could possibly be opposed to that are those whose profits are threatened.
