YT broke the Invidious API last month, which barely worked to begin with.
Use your VPN for the thing it's meant to do and don't use any API. Just change the VPN to a non-primary location, and turn off the API or use the local IP fallback. If it doesn't work, change locations again until it works.
It's very important to remember that between 1991 and 2001, the US saw 10 years of a world that was the epilogue of the End of History. We had won the Cold War, and while there were problems, they were largely distant, the politics fairly civil, things like the internet changing life quickly, and even the moments of hard times gave us great music. It took 2-3 years for the effects of Columbine and 9/11 to really change the country and world.
25 years is also not nothing. 25 years before 2001 was 1976. Star Wars was new. Ford was president. Disco was HOT. Apple and Microsoft were founded. Things can change a lot.
If you've never lived in a place where you complain about having speeds being throttled, then 2 guys come to your house with a full color printout of your internet use over the last few months, then walk around looking at everything you have and basically asking for a bribe just becaise, then you haven't fully understood the use case "masking traffic from your ISP."
Sure, I get that. But if someone approaches the material without the dogma of their religion making it all "too special to object to the content," objectively, it needs some curation.
Marking it NSFW is just being honest.
Edit: No one is saying don't read it. But why does that mean that children should be reading passages about horse buckets of jizz?
“When she carried on her whoring so openly and flaunted her nakedness, I turned in disgust from her, as I had turned in disgust from her sister. Yet she increased her whoring, remembering the days of her youth, when she played the whore in the land of Egypt and lusted after her lovers there, whose members were like those of donkeys, and whose issue was like that of horses. Thus you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when the Egyptians handled your bosom and pressed your young breasts.” (Ezekiel 23:18-21)
So that's a start.
Then there's literally incest rape. Like, a lot of it. And children! Raping children. Don't forget that it literally describes CSAM. Plus some more rape, and rape then murder.
You honestly don't think that's NSFW?
I dare you to go into a workplace and talk about a time when some guy you heard about got drunk, took off his pants, and then his 2 daughters fucked him and see if you don't have a meeting with HR.
I know you mean well here, but this is fully bonkers. This is not how friends behave with each other.
They absolutely don't owe me shit. We lived with them for a month before they moved, all in same house, for free. So there's money we didn't spend right there. We shared meals, shared hangovers, and shared their other friends in a place we were just moving to, which is priceless. But if you're still really worried about money, they sold us their car for well under KBB as well. The guy's brother and mom were who we called when stuff broke, and who brought us pupusas randomly when they were in the neighborhood. We trust them and they trust us, so we aren't going to fuck up their house, and we got landlords that respond to shit immediately. I'm not going to ruin a 20+ year relationship with some tankie notions about "oh, bro, you owe me home equity." And you can trust that anyone doing something like this knows when they have a good thing going without having to explain details.
And sure, I don't disagree, but these people are also not actually that smart. I would worry more about this getting hacked in a week way before Elon gets a chance to use it against anyone.
I'm sure there are, but no one needs to be worried about Addams Family cannon.
Might as well spend all your free time worried about Flintstones or Felix the Cat canon. The people making the media certainly don't care to follow any of it, it's not ever going to make sense. Just live in the moment and enjoy it for what it is!
You feel free to go first, buddy.
