    The segment of larger vans is still not represented very well in the EV world, so I'm looking forward to this announcement.

  • Inatall the latest version of lemmy Voyager, then it should be on by default. In case you turned it off, you can switch it on again:

    Settings / General / (scroll down) / confirm back from Home ...

  • I personally think this popup is not a great UX, and the text ("lose progress") is unspecific.

    It would be smarter to be able to return to the last feed and position with a simple gesture. Or allowing an option to hide posts that were shown during the last visit.

    My desired outcome for this thread is to get some feedback. Apparently, most people here like this change, so I am not going to do anything further.

  • What’s less forgivable is the complete lack of wireless charging. This was understandable in early 2024 on the $500 OnePlus 12R, an annoyance on the $600 OnePlus 13R, and is now an inexcusable absence on the $700 OnePlus 15R.

    Well, if this is the most disappointing phone in 2025, maybe the expectations were off. Why was the lack of wireless charging understandable in 2024?

    However, a camera downgrade combined with a price hike is a very understandable reason to be disappointed (for me, at least).

  • I think most fears about EVs are about the reduced range in winter, especially when combined with fast travel:

    What if I need to drive 800 kilometers over the winter holidays, with subzero temperatures, highway speeds, and a car packed to the brim - all of which severely reduce range?

    And sure, this is probably the toughest scenario for EV range calculations.

  • Those numbers comparing ChatGPT with Netflix do not seem plausible to me.

    Streaming a video is basically sending a file over the internet, while ChatGPT requires multiple GPUs to run.

    I found different numbers online:

    • ChatGPT: 0.3 to 3 Wh per query
    • Netflix: 77 Wh per hour (source)

    By this rough calculation, your estimate is quite a few magnitudes wrong. It is maybe 100-500 ChatGPT queries that are equal to watching Netflix, not 100.000.

  • If you want "mass surveillance" with thousands of suspects, millions of requests per subject (the paper mentions 20 requests per second IIRC), over weeks ... you probably get blocked and/or caught.

    Also, your suspects will be "significantly unhappy" if your espionage costs them 11-18% of their battery per hour. Even without other usage, the battery would be dead by noon.

    And lastly, this attack uses so much bandwidth that video streaming is impacted. I would guess that it probably needs about 1 MBit, which is 11 GB per 24 hours.

  • So wie ich es verstehe, ist dies bewusst nicht definiert. Ob der Verbrenner "hocheffizient" ist oder nicht, ist für das Erreichen des Flottenziels ja nur teilweise relevant (der andere Aspekt ist die Stückzahl).

    Damit ist die Diskussion über "Hocheffizienz" endgültig eine reine Nullnummer, ein Ablenkungsmanöver.
