  • A service provider has no reason to do this. They see you moving around all the time. They can likely determine your location as close as a few hundred meters.

  • Battery draw? There are other explanations that are far more likely.

  • I guess that it could also be used to compare different people. Do they have fast and slow connections at about the same time? Then they might be spending time together.

This is clearly not for mass espionage, but at least a theoretical approach to confirm a suspicion.

  • That was so much less than what AI is now.

  • Clearly, manufacturers can‘t just „produce more“ based on current trends. It takes years to scale the production.

  • Maybe take a look at emulators then? Modern phones are capable of running many retro games, including WII and PS2 games.

Additionally, it is possible to run PC games.

  • To be fair, Mozilla has done quite some stupid shit in the last decade or so. Remember when they killed all addons with version 57?

  • That doesn‘t sound stupid though. If you have a battery plant and too few customers in the automotive sectors, its only logical to shift the output for energy grid and datacenter needs.

What should they do otherwise with 20 GWh of batteries?

The Mustang maker added that it would invest $2 billion to scale the new energy storage business, which it said would "leverage currently underutilized electric vehicle battery capacity." Ford plans to deploy at least 20 gigawatt-hours of energy storage systems by the end of 2027, which is roughly equivalent to the power used by 2,000 US homes for a year.

  • Yeah, that was great. I remember that my notification led used different colors for different apps, e.g. a missed call would have a different color than an unread message.

  • No, as of this article, because

Ford [...] decided to halt production of some EV models

  • I might be wrong, but i think I had this feature on my very first Android phone (with Cyanogenmod, not with stock OS).

  • Looks more like "we create and sell early prototypes".

  • Sure, there are some that are equipped with filters to prevent burning your eyes.

  • Please don't use a telescope to check, otherwise you will have no eyes.

  • Sort of strange to see a Top 10 list that is (almost) only comprised by BYD and Volkswagen.

  • Not too long ago, 4 or 6 GB ram were plenty. What happened that modern Android „needs“ that much memory?

  • I know. And I'm sure that Samsung will release it with a bit more polish.

  • It is still quite buggy for me. Sometimes, the mouse pointer appears on the phone and not on the big screen. Additionally, it doesn't seem to support resulutions other than 1080p.

Samsung DEX (tried on a galaxy s23) is way more mature than Android 16 Desktop mode.
