  • Some of that likely came out of him being a shitbag in various ways where he lucked into the right circumstances for that attitude.

The world isn't black and white. He should get some credit for Tesla. And he should get credit for the current ways he's dismantling Tesla and the US.

  • He did help push it forward in a couple ways that I don't think others would have.

One is that he just didn't give a fuck about regulation or established procedures. Two is that he did have a focus on affordability. Three is that he demanded a lot out of his employees largely driven (for them) by being for the greater good.

A lot of his success has come from employees who were dedicated to the cause. It's why both Tesla and SpaceX had done so well, while Twitter and Tesla robots will flounder

  • What do you MEAN I'm out of the in-group? I was in the in-group.

For those smarter among us, this is why we want laws that apply fairly to everyone.

I don't want a world where crimes are expected, and you just have to continually manage whose good graces you're in in order to survive.

You'd think billionaires of the 1990s would agree, but they can 10x their money if they just avoid falling out of windows.

  • Granted. They weren't giving out participation trophies for 12th though, sorry.

  • More likely the prosecutor just didn't show any evidence. The prosecutor has so much influence over whether there is or isn't an indictment.

  • It sounds an awful lot like you don't want people to vote.

  • Oooohhhhh, you're gonna get downvoted. (By one guy with 12 accounts.)

  • They use PLA in several tea bags and coffee filters now.

... of course I research and avoid those. I'm not super paranoid about plastic, but boiling it and drinking it seems insane.

  • I was slightly interested in getting into it. Youtube had some 15 minute sample of Sunday Ticket. So I figured I'd catch the end of the Bears game. Why not.

13 of the 15 minutes were ads and the demo ran out. Iirc it was exorbitantly priced to continue, and you wouldn't get everything.

So instead I watch pro League of Legends. Not as relatable, but a hell of a lot cheaper to watch, and I enjoy it.

0:35 is the alleged shart. Within seconds he's trying to wrap it up. At 0:39 he's suddenly trying to immediately wrap it up. At 0:42 the woman in green arguably reacts. More reactions from the woman in green again at 0:47 and 0:53. At 0:51 he literally gestures the press out of the room without actually moving from his chair.

If this was a grand jury, you'd get an indictment for sure. It could not be a shart, but it looks like a shart, sounds like a shart, and the woman in green smells it like a shart.

  • Declarations. Executive orders. Not bills.

Bills create law. He ain't doing that. Most of what he does is not legal.

  • It looks real to me. The reactions aren't large, and maybe the shart noise at 0:34 could have been edited in, but... it all fit together with the way Trump and staff suddenly rushed the press out of the room.

  • America is doing terrible things at home and abroad, but that isn't enough for the tankies. They need us to have always been like this.

We haven't. This is the first time we've had a president that wasn't at least trying to do the right thing by his people, no matter how misguided.

I think even Reagan fully bought into the trickle down bullshit and thought he was doing the right thing for America and Americans by paving the way for corporate oligarchy.

I think W (from his perspective at the time) justified our invasion of Iraq with both liberating the people and reducing our reliance on Israel and Saudi Arabia.

The orange tyrant doesn't give that much of a fuck. He doesn't need to have anything sold to him other than his own name.

  • It's funny. We're awash in terrible things happening in and from America, but that isn't enough for the tankies. It's almost like they have an agenda.

  • Eh, that was a different, tangential thing. This arc started in 2015 when Russia figured out how to manipulate social media while absolutely no one was guarding against it.

  • I don't really have an issue with this. At $25 an hour, 10% less for actual teenagers is fair.

    Wait, did you say $15?

  • I think the bigger things are the nearly slave labor and the temporary government subsidies and the general manufacturing capability and the jobs.

That said, I sure would like cheap, ubiquitous electric vehicles.

  • I... I was trying to disagree. But you're making it damn difficult.

Maybe they can eat a dick.

  • It's bad for the country to lose all manufacturing capability.

Arguably could be better to have access to slave labor, cheap, green cars though.
