Hi, I'm also Terencio on mastodon.social and Sergio on piefed.social. I mostly use this account to make posts that are easier here.

  • What I like about this song in particular is that there IS a structure to it, but that structure is very unlike that of a typical pop song.

  • Single poster at the moment on

Yo I saw a couple other folks posting there in the last week...

  • hmmm.... historically, coca leaves were holy to the indigenous people of the andes and still play an important cultural role. ok, that's all I'm gonna argue.

  • oh it gets even worse than that. the coca leaves are shipped to Jersey so the cocaine can be removed before use in the drink! source.

  • Hey, that reminds me of my mother's special chocolate chip cookie recipe. Who doesn't love the warm gooey smell of chocolate chips? Well this was her special recipe when we asked her for cookies. She said:

    1. go to the fucking store
    2. and buy the goddamn cookies there, you think I'm your fucking slave?
    3. if you don't have money then get a fucking job
    4. christ, you ruined my life.

MMMM! The heartwarming memories of childhood!

  • Hmmm... in the US, I think cocaine cola was illegal in the 50s, but you could get amphetamines pretty easily...

  • Reddit has a recent history of cutting off access to scraper tools as AI companies have begun to use (and abuse) them en masse, but it’s willing to provide that data if companies pay.

There it is. People who post/comment/vote on reddit are creating monetizable resources for Reddit. ofc Reddit doesn't want to give it away for free, they want to get PAID. Hey, maybe some of it will "trickle down" to the Worker Snoos.

  • This is awesome. So far I've only listened to the first couple tracks, which correspond to "From Beyond". It was a little odd to have it suddenly transition into another story without warning (with the same narrator), so I had to stop for a while.

Weirdly, I listened to the first story just before falling asleep on the couch, and suddenly I heard a crash from outside, and I saw first one car, then another and another, being thrown from a great distance and saw them land on the yard, exploding. I was about to panik before I realized it was a very realistic dream and woke up.

  • Well, THE DRACULA POLYCULE starts with Mina and Lucy in bed together talking about the future. Mina says she wants to go to Europe and study art history, or at least go to a bunch of museum or something. She talks a bit about art and the sweep of history and everyday life's place in these things. Lucy asks if she's going to take Jonathan but Mina says no way, she's just marrying him so he'll provide an income, she's already laid down the law with him. Mina says ofc Lucy's welcome to come along, tho. Lucy says she wishes she could do that, but she kind of likes (the guy she's going to marry, forgot his name), and wants to spend some alone time with him for a while. And after that she may be keeping the other two suitors as lovers, "as in a French novel." But she tells Mina to let her know the itinerary, in case Lucy decides to leave it all and go join her. Later they're walking on the beach and look upon the wreck of the Demeter, and philosophize about something or other, dunno what the theme is yet, since I haven't read Dracula before.

  • I just re-watched "Dangerous Liaison", so my first thought is: Lucy should marry one of them, and keep the other two as lovers. (Hey, that was an epistolary novel too!) New movie idea: THE DRACULA POLYCULE.

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • awesome, thanks for the link, I thought I'd heard of something like imginn.com, but I couldn't remember the name.

  • I'm glad you mentioned that name... I was able to figure out that the image is from What we Do in the Shadows, which I've been meaning to watch sometime.

  • yes, as evidenced by the dent in the seated guy's cane.

  • I've been looking at memes to learn more about the Way of Memecraft. I remembered this during a discussion earlier about what was your first alt concert.

Anyway it's pretty true, in my local area the goth and industrial acts tend to play with metal or punk bands, for example.

  • Is that goth?

Hey, it's all a continuum... that's what I like about posting here, it's all good. In my local area the goth-y bands all play with other scenes anyway... wait, that reminds me of a meme I saw somewhere, I'ma look it up and post it...

  • If they were streaming that live, I'd totally watch!
