Stimmt. Insofern bin ich gespannt, inwiefern dieses System den Angriffen eines Präsidenten widerstehen kann, der am liebsten alle Macht zentral bei sich sammeln möchte. Ich weiß nicht, inwiefern die dort wirksame Schutzmechanismen gegen ein zu übergriffiges Washington implementiert haben.
Das stimmt, auch wir machen natürlich die momentane Bewegung nach rechts (bzw. in den Populismus) mit. Und auch bei uns scheint es mittlerweile wieder viele zu geben, die nicht sehen, wie fragil das ganze ist und eine Bereitschaft zum Zündeln haben.
Aber am Ende ist unser Staat doch erheblich stabiler gebaut als ein Land wie Amerika oder so. Wir haben viele konstruktive Merkmale, die ein Abdriften in Diktatur o.ä. erschweren (nicht verhindern).
Man kann ihnen quasi gar keinen Vorwurf machen. Wir Deutschen haben den “Vorteil”, dass wir in jüngerer Zeit erlebt haben, wie schnell es abdriften kann. Und es hat den 2. Weltkrieg gebraucht mit all seinen Gräueln, bis man sich wirklich Gedanken darüber gemacht, wie man die Architektur des Staates krisenfest macht.
Das alles haben die Amis gar nicht erlebt, sie kennen diese Ängste nicht, sondern nur ein stabiles, funktionierendes System. Mal sehen, was sie die nächsten Jahre erleben werden.

Ich habe mir einfach einen passenden über iFixit gekauft. Der war zwar etwas teurer als die günstigsten Angebote und sicherlich ebenfalls aus China, aber ich vertraue denen mehr als einem Amazon-Dropshipper, zumal sie zusichern, dass er die Hersteller-Specs einhält. This is what everyone was saying looking at those 100kish Russian soldiers at the Ukrainian border at the beginning of 2022. “They won’t do it, that is not enough men”.
And who says it is going to be a open escalation? Remember Crimea? Hacking attacks? Russia is all about destabilisation just below the threshold of clear and open aggression. Them stirring up some bullshit in for example Narva will put the west to the test. And I’m sure there will be a lot of voices on our side warning against an open conflict with Russia just because they seized a small border town in a small country.
It’s the same as in Ukraine: if Putin has enough reason to believe it might work, he will try it.
A Ukraine with nukes is as bad for Russia as a Ukraine in NATO. Russia wants to rule again over “its” (aka Soviet) lost “sphere of influence”. This is textbook imperialism and if that’s what you want to defend here, fine. Just don’t expect me to agree.
