<3 Silk, AKA Scylla, I’m not your Goddess.

  • I love that bird. Also praise Silk!

  • Thanks for all the work you put in @Doubledee@hexbear.net!

    To your points:

    1. Like this idea. Maybe we include a trade list in the weekly posts?
    2. Kick them all out. I think keeping a few around can be fun, but we have way too many right now.
    3. Alongside the trade list, maybe we keep a running list of our niche industries?
    4. Limiting ourselves to a few breeding pairs might work.
  • ‘Crypto analysts’ doin a lot of heavy lifting reporting on the ‘illicit’ cybercrimes.

  • On the way!

  • I ended up loading up a new fort and the nemesis file warning wasn’t there anymore. But I guess that doesn’t mean the world isn’t still messed up somehow.

  • I’ll see if I get time to ‘start’ a new in The World of Wind, and check if the nemesis files are still missing.

  • I’m down to put effort in to save the fort. So a clean-up year works for me. I’d just be worried you put in all the effort and things still go off the rails no matter how hard we try. But like I said, willing to try and keep this thing going!

  • Also I think the missing nemesis files only apply to the current fort?

  • I’ll take on another year!

  • Thanks for the tip! Soon books will be all I produce!

  • Uriah Heepin’ after Agnes

  • Been wanting to try a library fort for some time and your fort layout really shows it off! The only thing stopping me was learning the paper/binding industries but looks like it’s super worth it for the impact you can leave on the world. Especially starting in year 12

  • Thanks for the post! Just started a new fort today as part of a civilization of 1 and that person is the king. The Civ also has no sites. Really excited to see if it’s possible to build from the ground up like that. Or if I’m doomed to 8 dwarves until children are born/travelers become citizens.

  • I’m also up for retiring or continuing. We can also consider going out with a bang and attempting some military invasion as a ‘last hurrah’. It might be neat to then start a new fort in the same world and civ (if they still exist). Even a different civ offers a bunch if we stay in the World of Winds.

Retiring also has its advantages in that some dwarves we know may end up in our new fort. Looking at you Oreb.

  • If I remember correctly the hospital is next to the first apartments in the caverns.

  • Ooo wee, what a year! Regarding the nemesis files, these ‘disappeared’ during my save when the 50.10 update happened. Depending on who those files belonged too, if we send them somewhere they might just not come back. Fingers crossed that the corrupt save issue doesn’t pop up though!

  • Ahhh that makes sense! Will have to give this a try on my next fort

  • Also here’s my Friday afternoon teaser:

Cobbled together from various diaries, engraved walls, and inscriptions found in Beardrenched relating to the year 206:

“Get a drink, burning corpse, eat a meal, burning corpse. 206 the year of fire” A scrap of paper, signed Oreb

“Flamingo, flamingo, flamingo.” Scribbled on an artifact made by a child.

“So many children have been seen stumbling around, completely oblivious. Brawls are becoming a common occurrence. Our satisfaction survey numbers are tanking. “ From the official records of Gay King Prince Charles Administrator of Beardrenched.

“I would have had that stupid bird if Oreb had let me at them. I would have wrestled it down no problem.” Attributed to Porkrollposadist from the Myth of Stimber.

I swear the Giant Cave Spider incident hadn’t happened when I wrote this.
