  • I would consider this unusually clingy for the age. But I'm no doctor. Acting like that past age 6 is a bit meh and after 8 feels definitely off. That's just my opinion.

Now that doesn't mean feeling anxious for spending time away from home is unusual. That can be rough, you are facing a lot of unknowns simultaneously -unknown amenities, new people sharing your environment, plus the stress of keeping up with studies. It's okay. I'd also be on edge in that situation. A lot can go wrong and you have little control or contingency methods.

  • I thought longer than I'd like to admit to, I think Everything Everywhere All At Once could have a decent fun sequel.

I don't know. Most good movies already have sequels, and I can't think of many movies without sequels that I could say I enjoyed or that I would love to see a sequel of.

Usually sequels ruin the first part or don't live up to the standard, so in general I wouldn't push for this.

  • But.... Pies are round aren't they?

  • Come on. We all know it's because the vaccines

  • I'm going to add to the sun point, and remark that the cool range of tones is associated with snow and ice, since these reflect the blue of the sky. So even if people didn't need fire to cook or live their lives at all, they would associate the blue ranges with winter.

Water in its liquid state also looks blue, and is usually associated with something refreshing in warm areas. So even in the tropics you would have a reason for associating blues with cools.

In contrast, most desert areas are naturally in orange ranges. You can also argue autumn forests would look orange and they're not exactly warm, but the light in an autumn forest doesn't bounce as much or as tinged compared to light conditions in desert areas, where the soil or sand is yellow or orange -red, and where whatever casting a shadow is probably the ground itself.

Finally, human bodies are more in a warm range tone (no matter the skin color) when compared to the same body suffering cold. Nails and lips take on a bluish hue, so do fingertips.

I think you would need to tweak your universe a little bit more to achieve a reversal in color association.

  • I do use Youtube. Through newpipe though. I'll extend your premise , and presume there is no large tech company holding any site or service online. That also includes any generative AI.

    How would I use internet?

Well, the same I did in the early 90s I guess. I can't fathom it would be long before some kind of search engine popped up though. I guess I'll be searching art online and sharing mine on platforms similar to Deviantart or the likes, if DA doesn't exist I one hundred percent believe there would be online forums dedicated to sharing art and connecting through messages. I would probably also be text roleplaying in forums as well. Those things still exist on a small scale today.

I guess I would also connect to check news to a couple official news sites if there is no such thing as rss. Same for weather forecast.

I wonder what the situation would be about maps. Without Google, would we still have something large and accessible such as OSMand? I believe not only we would, they would be better, and they would probably be easier to use downloaded locally so that's probably another thing I'd do.

Do we still have torrenting? I can see myself torrenting even more if I don't have any streaming platforms.

  • Now try to become self aware of online etiquette

  • That puts a damper but it's still an exciting prospect

  • Good on you for becoming self aware but this is not a showerthought

  • Saw some people playing 2026 bingo cards the other day on Lemmy. I don't think they had Donald Cortés in it

  • Disclaimer : I'm not reading your link

Answer: I just think it's not worth it. The motivation to make comics should arise from your need to express yourself visually, not to compensate for poor translation. Learning to draw maybe comes easy to you, but then you'll have to actually do it and keep it consistent and meet your own standards, which is the extra hard part you are not taking into consideration.

Climbing the mountain can be a challenge, but it pales in comparison with setting up camp and living at high altitude indefinitely. If you don't have a call for that kind of lifestyle I would suggest you reconsider.

Give it a go, though. Nothing wrong with a bit of tourism and sightseeing. You may even get to enjoy it, and you will understand for yourself if it's meant to be for you or not.

  • Mind sharing what you eat? I agree a burger is around $20 AUD, but I didn't know I could stretch those same $20 eating something healthy and varied for weeks. I would have said two days personally
