I eat bugs

  • If unity between similar people is the important thing here then why not come over and join team red? You know, as opposed to being part of a foreign empire that doesn't even respect you enough to incorporate you as a state?

  • Maybe fentanyl really is inflicting mass destruction on the US because it sure does seem like a lot of brains in the US are cooked.

  • That is true, during my brief time in Latam, I saw political advertisements all over the place for some white European looking guy while 99% of the population was Hispanic. With how desperate and impoverished people were there I felt a sense that any rich person from the US could go there and easily control the whole country if they wanted to. The sad truth is while poverty and rough conditions can drive some towards socialism, it can also drive some to bootlick as much as needed to get their hands on their own tiny slice of the pie, and I felt this dynamic pretty strongly in Latam.

  • Not going to lie, hearing this after all the other negative developments that have happening in South America really sours my moods and makes me genuinely pissed that people can be dumb or evil enough to vote for such a candidate. Like, calling him a Nazi isn't even a metaphor this time, he is the LITERAL son of an official Nazi party member, with a matching political stance that checks out. I get that Boric was a spineless radlib that made it easy, and that the right has a massive advantage in terms of money and platforms being handed to them, but still...come on people. I need to take a time out before I angrily rant further.

  • All sounds very reasonable to me. Pro or Anti-AI everyone should at least be able agree that there needs to be an end to grifters spamming fake shorts for easy views and trying pass off AI content as real. Half the hatred towards AI would disappear and it's a lot more reasonable then what the main concern seems to be in the West which is people generating videos of Pikachu and Mickey Mouse, because how will poor companies like Nintendo and Disney survive?

  • Japan elected an ultraconservative prime minister who holds Margaret Thatcher as a role model and threatened military intervention in Taiwan, which China considers an invasion of China by Japan since Taiwan is legally a part of China. More broadly, Japan has slowly been taking steps to remilitarize for some time now, even picking fights with South Korea over disputed islands. China thus far has only somewhat tolerated Japan after what they did in WW2 so long as they remain pacifist, and there is a UNSC clause that states that founding members have the right to declare war on former WW2 axis members without a vote should they again become aggressive.

  • Mr. Krabs

  • Phew close one, now Poland's democracy is saved from authoritarians that would seek to ban their political opponents and forcefully impose their ideology on the rest of society. Wait a minute...

  • I suppose they didn't get the memo yet that the US quit playing ranked matches and moved on to bullying beginners instead.

  • There would be less cars for the duck to worry about as there would be less car culture and more priority given to creating efficient public transportation.

  • I heard about this earlier. The Constellation class was supposed to be the pragmatic fix to other failed over-engineered LCS ships the US wasted billions on, but it got cancelled itself because of how poor the state of US ship building is.

  • If you can afford higher education that means you are likely a member of the bourgeoise to begin with. Most societies in history created schemes to gatekeep education from commoners and people deemed risky towards the ruling class. I think rising literacy rates played a big role in socialism's emergence in the 20th century, up until reactionary and capitalist nations became aware of the "threat" and began gearing themselves specifically towards anti-communism.

  • Xi do be eating with his massive spoon.

  • Alternate Title: Parent whispers to their child that poking a dragon with stick is maybe not such a great idea.

  • Flux is a German model and the old Stable Diffusion models where British, America is completely allergic to the concept of free locally run open source.

  • The thumbnail pic had me lost with what it was even trying to say at first and then I was like...oh...

  • I loath the term itself because I associate it's use with right wingers with delusions of themselves being oppressed underdogs.

As for "Cancel Culture" itself, to me it feels the epitome of a first world problem. If you are famous enough or engaged with social media enough to get cancelled you are probably better off learning how to chill by yourself anyway.
