All too often I come off as argumentative, I'm working on it but definitely a work in progress.

  • @Swedneck @luckystarr The Netherlands doesn't have the sprawliest of urban areas, but that is because those just don't work, so don't have them ;)

Yes, 30/60 is pretty reasonable once driving isn't the only way for people to get around.

  • @1rre @lgsp Smaller road reduces speed very effectively too.

And anywhere built that densly definitely has the density for PT to be everyone's primary mode of powered transport.

  • @AceBonobo @Showroom7561 I believe that around here they are required to be removed when not in use.

    Not that anyone knows this.

  • @avidamoeba My gravel bike is steel. Steel is a good material to make bikes from. That is bikes intended to be used and repaired.

  • @avidamoeba @mapto Those are back because they are really sensible bikes for riding the places and ways most people cycle.

  • @Kecessa @plactagonic dirt paths in australia have good numbers of snakes, I tink observations of snakes are just common.

  • @plactagonic 2x the minimum.

But as with most fitness gear, second hand can be a real bargain. Still spend more than the minimum, but get the 4x bike for 1.5x.

  • Weird

    Jump
  • @notfromhere @Grass They shouldn't need much more than a tap I would have thought when sliding into the correctly sized hole (I wouldn't be surprised at concrete being higher friction than asphalt when both have been drilled)

  • @xmunk @Showroom7561 the impression we are there already is only marginally more dangerous than thinking it is only 510 years off. Full self driving is still very hard.
