  • Quality time with underage ladies?

  • Damn it...

  • I think he supports 2 state solution, right? So some people consider that a form of Zionism. Which seems a bit questionable because I believe that has also been Hamas's position for the last few years, although they don't call it that.

Maybe there's more to it. To be honest I'm not overly worried about the exact positions of one of the more outspoken critics of Israel in congress. I'd much rather focus my ire on its defenders, which are many.

  • I love hearing about these old struggles. Our history presents it as if everyone just accepted the tyranny of that time but the reality is people have always been fighting the same fight.

It's also nice to know that some of my ancestors were trying to help people instead of all of the awful things the aristocracy were doing.

  • Well everyone thinks they think that.

  • Gonna have to agree on which genocides count first.

  • We're allowed to criticize political charlatans when we see them. I live in CA and most people here can see this. It's only people outside the state who can't because they aren't watching as closely. All they've seen is his social media posts which he didn't write and has stated he doesn't even agree with. There is no substance to this man. He's all hair gel.

  • Great quote. Who said this?

  • As far as I can tell, people can still report on these facts without major safety risk. Yes, the free press is under attack but it hasn't succumbed yet.

  • I wish all these talented social media interns would do something useful with their skills instead of boosting corrupt democrats. Because damn that's a good line.

  • Yeah this is an open question to me. How many people are being sent to foreign prisons and what becomes of them there? There has been very little coverage since Kilmer Abrego Garcia was freed but my understanding is this is still ongoing.

  • We still have a (mostly) free press though. Eventually families and counsel would find out and the news would get it. Unless it started very recently I don't find this credible.

    Your source is paywalled fyi.

  • I gotta be honest I've always thought Epstein probably did kill himself but this is the first thing that makes me wonder if maybe he didn't.

  • Long-standing political differences and an extremely censorious moderation philosophy on Lemmy.ml means there is always tension. I'm not aware of any specific thing that has happened recently though.

  • Fuck no.

  • Ok how though lol. It's not anywhere near as simple as pressing a switch. If it was we wouldn't be subject to it.

  • PACs don't always give money to candidates. They often just express their opinions in a way that aligns with a candidate's reelection. I think drawing a line here that doesn't infringe on ordinary political commentary is a bit challenging.

  • This is a popular opinion but corporate personhood has a lot of implications beyond political activities which need to be considered.

For example, if corporations are not people, how does the first amendment apply to news outlets?

  • So equal funds for all parties, even those with minimal support? Interesting idea, I'd like to see how it works in practice.

However, this won't solve the PAC issue.
