  • I think it will come back. Given that its using a system notification to suggest an app that is suggested to me in every app I open, pinned to my taskbar, pinned to my start menu and built into my keyboard.

  • I hope you're right because I am enjoying Microsoft's failures and I would like them to continue.

  • I got a popup on my work PC 5 mins ago advertising co pilot.

  • Thats bad actually, the free advertising to linux was a good thing. Now Windows users will slip back into apathy.

  • We aren’t allowed to talk Linux anymore or we’d have to leave

I get this, in my own house. We need speakeasy for linux.

  • yeah being casual in comp games can still be fun! I never got past silver 2 in CSGO and I had a great time. I was dogshit by all metrics but I way more fun than when I was Diamond in LoL(that was miserable).

People were more friendly, there were dudes ripping bongs and rapping mid round. I could play with any of my friends, I could play tired, drunk no worries, no ruining the game etc.

  • SBCs like Rasberry Pi. To have easy to use low cost computers be this powerful truly is the future. We have so many tools available to us these days. With open source software, low cost hard and a bit of learning we can save $1000s of dollars that would have gone straight into the pockets of tech companies.

Electric bikes are cool, I see them growing in popularity around my city and its getting people used to biking who never would have before. Because there are a ton of hills people would hand wave and say oh im not fit enough to bike. Its having a flow on effect, they realise they enjoy biking so they do it more and lose weight. Gov sees people using the bike lanes and invests more in them.

  • Its scum behavior but its smart. If you can get your product into a reddit thread that gives a ton of free high quality advertising. Its why the site turned to site so fast once normal people found out about it. Suddenly you had products being shilled in every community and threads created solely for the purpose of posting a reply that said to buy a product. AI is just a cherry ontop of the already souless reddit behaviour and quite frankly its what they deserve.

  • probably quicker and easier to just write whatever calculation you need in python

  • Is that true? I've seen devs list their games off steam for steamprice -30%. Often you can go to a devs website and buy the game $10 cheaper. However I still buy it via steam because i feel like i'll forget about the game if its just a key in my email.

  • It could be a hint to the algorithm to stop pushing the content because you wouldn't want something incorrect circulating. But then people may not want to use it but also those people would be the same ones who are happy to lie in a viral tweet.

  • there is only one "hard" distro and thats linux from scratch. Maybe nixOS due to lack of info and needing some time to get into the mindset of how nix does things.

  • You arent forced to do anything and why the fuck would you think im talking about hyprland. Pretty sure your whole comment is just trolling and you dont believe a single thing you're saying.

  • But no one has ever said they use redhat when they use centOS or fedora. That doesnt happen on other distros they just say the distro they use. Obviously its not a big deal but it is cringe and all the responses from people twisting themselves into knots trying to defend it is even more cringe.

Anyways, if a person uses Arch, is switching to Endeavor beneficial? Will it be more convenient or feel restrictive?

That depends, if you can configure arch then no because it will only add things you'll want to remove. If you cant then its nice to have maintainers to configure and maintain your distro for you.

  • Which desktop are you using and what are you trying to do?

  • "I have an issue with wayland waaa its so bad"

    pulls of the mask

    Its an issue with gnome.

    Every. Single. Time.

Its far better to have compositing the actually works vs the borked shit xorg has. Forcing every desktop maker to share the terrible stagnant base that was xorg is not the linux way. You've chosen to use an opinionated desktop that doesnt have the features you want. These arent hard to implement, a child was able to implement all those features by themselves in a few years.

  • My internal dialogue during social events: dont talk about linux, dont talk about foss, dont talk about rodents.
