  • Worrying about "punching up" and "punching down" is a dumb concept. You arent highlighting examples that are bad because they're punching down. Those examples are bad because they are completely false statements intended to misinform and enrage.

  • Is this written by the AI? Its devoid of any substance and the "author" is just pissing and shitting about not having the infrastructure they only realized they want after they started watching NJB videos a few years ago. Horriblely written article, not related to technology at all.

  • resurgence of standalone mp3 players

Which retirement home is this happening in?

  • headphone jack is dead. Its pointless to add it to new devices.

  • I actually like only office but i prefer it to be in browser

  • isnt that just libre office?

  • Its always had extreme content from both ends

  • specs wise yes but you will not build a PC in the same form factor for anywhere near that price.

  • I do not get what they trying to say here

  • I've been wanting a sheets alternative and I really do not like libre office. This is huge

  • Spineless admin. The evil stuff seems to be the only things the dont back down from.

  • Bluesky did a lot right. I really hate it because of that. I think its going ot eventually win out and become exactly the same as twitter.

  • I dont find them addictive, just useful.

  • I dont want corporate platforms to be the only ones to implement recommendation algorithms. The problem with the platform is its a blackbox not that it has algorithmic recommendations. And the fediverse will do it, there is already the beginnings of recommendation algorithms.

  • Those arent the steps. There is a 6th one because you have to go find content. Whats served up by default is random and not very good compared with the algorithmic feeds of other platforms.

  • I have 2k hours in rimworld and I cheat like a motherfucker when my favorite pawn dies. I might go through a run having revived the same pawn 10+ times. I'll do all kinds of weird copes like oh its fine because I will also delete this stack of 10k silver or i'll delete another pawn as sacrific. However in multiplayer games nah no cheating, I can win fair and square. Outside of sandbox single player games nah I dont cheat either since it feels like its ruining the game for me.

  • my gaming pc runs at like 50w idle and only draws a ton of power if its being used for something. It would be more accurate to consider a PC to be 1.75x more power than a NAS but then account for the cost of buying a NAS. I'd say NAS would probably take 2-4 years to pay off depending on regional power prices.

  • I'm pretty sure just cause 3 didnt have an option to disable it and it was horrible. They fixed it later I believe.

  • right thinks men are people

I'd disagree here and say that the right see men as 'useful' and play off that.
