In a side note, why is venmo blocked by ublock with the fileter easyprivacy or something like that and paypal isn’t? Also I do not use these stuff for anything else I do not even have an account for all I know. Also what kind of information does it store? Just what you buy? because I don’t think them knowing I bought monero will be that useful to them.
It wouldn’t defeat the purpose right?
As long as you’re not trying to use a central exchange to buy it, and you mention nothing in the notes about buying Monero, then you’ll be fine. In fact, the decentralized exchanges that allow you to use PayPal prohibit you from putting anything about Monero into the transaction details on the PayPal transaction for that exact reason.
oh kool!
It’s not clear what exactly you’re asking.
Depending on your purpose it may be counterproductive to purchase monero on an exchange.
Venmo is privacy intrusive and has minimal security. PayPal at least has reasonable processes and requirements in place. PayPal is registered as a bank and has to follow all the financial laws.
In answer to your main question: no; despite what Alannis Morissette said, that’s not irony without more context.
Paypal is dogshit though, it for example doesn’t let you communicate with customer service if you’re unable to log in. And god forbid you cannot call.
Yes, it has huge issues. But not on the regulatory or even privacy sides (where there are some obvious issues, but not on the level of services like Venmo).
Ah interesting. Idk who that is btw. Idk how any of the systems work that’s also what I’m asking.
I could also find more stuff about paypal being bad in that sense, likely just because it’s more populqr anyways I should’ve probably investigated more in depth anyways.
