My employer did notice company wide no one was using sick days and “converted” them into “mental health days” (literally changed nothing but the name).and suddenly everyone is taking them left right and center.
They’re usually officially labelled “personal days” down here.
Some employers try and demand a certificate if you’re sick longer than X days. I just never give them one. I don’t need to, its a pathetic power play. That’s my leave, already accrued by hours worked and part of my compensation. Fuck with it and i’ll see you in court.
