Known as “Project 2029,” the liberal group was formed as a counterweight to the conservative Project 2025 to write a policy agenda for the next Democratic presidential nominee. The group reckons starting with online internet safety — which has widespread Democratic support — will help galvanize the party to address what it calls this generation’s “tobacco moment.”
The proposal also advocates for banning social media accounts for kids under 16 years old, adopting stronger default privacy protections, designing safer internet platforms, banning cell phones in schools (with exceptions), pushing for a smartphone-free childhood until age 14, banning surveillance advertising, and limiting data collection on children.
Another way to introduce Identity verification for using the internet

This shit has to be coming from some international neoliberal thinktank or cabal or something like Trilateral Commission. It’s not being implemented by parties all over the world just on vibes, they have a reason and a purpose and a plan for doing it.
Seriously what is the fucking source? Who is actually behind it?
AI companies are massively pushing this through lobbying as a method of parasitizing tech companies that are not as heavily invested in AI.
This seems to be the only real world application for their overbuilt infrastructure which could survive the bubble popping, if they can get this entrenched before the bubble pops.
I’m sure there are some think-tanks pushing this too, but they’re certainly being unusually quiet about that.
the genocide was too visible imo
It’s a way to advance ID verification for online posting, allowing for way more extreme censorship and surveillance. Social media is seen by the elites as the reason why antizionism and blaming rich people for societal problems are so widespread.
Originally the idea to restrict internet access for children came from Christian fascist lobby magnates who saw that many children learn about being queer on the internet, taking away that power of agency from their parents. It was just a matter of time before this concept was improved to use language which makes it sound like a good thing to any person who doesn’t think for one second about the implications of such internet restrictions. My suspicion is that Thiel backed think-tanks perfected the narrative and put a lot of money and effort into its advancement. Thiel is also personally benefiting from these restrictions because Palentir is the company that does age verification for most social media in countries where it is now required, and is thus able to sell the valuable information they hoard that are now connected to peoples official ID’s to state authorities.
saw this a while back:

big caveat that this person’s work was revealed to be heavily “AI-assisted”. but still pulls on some interesting threads it seems
