There’s a long history of rich assholes who support democracy siding with rich assholes who don’t support democracy over democracy supporters interested in social change.
Goes back at least to the mid-1800’s
Rich people don’t support democracy. Democracy is fundamentally incompatible with wealth inequality.
The 1840’s would like to have a word. This was not a defense of rich people, just what history has shown.
