Kind of a local post for the Pittsburgh region.

Our local Turners Dairy informed my grocery store that they had a new time-limited Strawberry Lemonade, so my manager bought a case. It came in today, and I snagged one to try it. (I’m typically a Snapple kind of guy).

Ok, so not trying to be too rude to Turners here, but what they actually did was combine their Lemonade with an orange concentrate, which they are marketing as Strawberry Lemonade. Total bait and switch. It has no strawberry at all. Not ingredient-wise. Not taste wise.

I for one think its total shit. If you are in this region, and are curious to try it, just don’t. And if you work for Turners, please learn to understand the difference between strawberry and orange. They’re not even in the same family of taste.

This is local drama I have no stake in, but I love it.

Surely they must have mixed things up in the factory?

That’s what I thought at first as well.

Ingrediants: Water, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, lemon juice concentrate, orange juice concentrate, citric acid, fine pulp, natural flavors, gum acacia (flavor agent), potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate as preservatives.

It’s not that it’s actually an unconsumable beverage, but if you take lemonade and pour in one of those orange flavored hugs (for kids lunchboxes), that’s about what it tastes like. Not a good taste when you were actually expecting (and hoping) for strawberry lemonade.

I’ve usually killed a half gallon by this time of the day. I’ve only gotten halfway, and honestly, I think ima go grab me a soda to get this taste out of my mouth.

I only get a Turners delivery once per week. I’ll have to wait until next Friday to talk at my driver. I can chew his ear for a bit and find out what happened. Until then, I’ll be dissuading people from buying it. Swatting it out of peoples hands even.

Truth is, I only bought it to try something new and to support a local vendor. I was really disappointed. I would spare others that disappoint.

I’m not really about the drama. This is about intelligence and intellect. There are numerous distinct differences between strawberry and orange, and it takes a special kind of fool to mistake the two flavors.
