i like the stories of the “smallfolk” because they’re relatable and accessible. the shit that focuses on the continental scope of highborn intrigue and their pathetic entanglements, destructive impulses and/or unrealized potential… i just don’t care. fuck em all, the inbred Targaryens, the Hightowers, shit snearing toffs.
tell me a story focusing on somebody like dunk or the onion knight, somebody just trying to navigate a small corner of the swirling deathtrap of westeros, whose intersection with the highborn is avoidant.
