my parents started early with the indoctrination. every achievement raised the bar, so next time i had to be better if i wanted their praise and approval. thats a fucked up idea to give to a child. these days i only feel normal when im accomplishing something, and the rest of the time im an anxious mess worried im going to lose everything because im not doing enough.

I mean, you can be proud of your accomplishments as they’re, at least in part, the result of your hard work and dedication, something you could’ve easily not done but you did despite the fact it was not pleasurable. But I understand the general feeling of the post, as many people will just base their entire self worth on whether they’re better for employers or not, lol.

I could get some ADHD meds but the process takes way too long in the UK, which is kind of a problem for disorganised and forgetful people like me. 🙃
