I’m curious what the general consensus is here cause I am so so fucking tired of listening to people talk about Graham Platner.
I’m amenable to the possibility of him being decent but I am not holding my breath over it.
it’s just another perfect example of the inherent flaws in “the left” ever hitching its wagon to the fucking Democratic Party.
That phrase “the left” makes my skin crawl in general. I am so tired of having to constantly wrest the identity of a historic movement away from this or that charlatan, it is humiliating to me and my peers to invest faith and trust in these people.
But without a party, who can we say represents “the left”? With the crimes of chattel slavery and now Palestinian genocide, is this party really the vehicle?
As far as I’m concerned any Democratic politician has a massive bar to clear for any support from me. More importantly I think we can point to some disturbingly clear examples that the institutional forces of Democratic Party politics easily overawing any individual representative of “the left”
I don’t like to disparage people choosing optimism in general. It just seems so glaringly obvious that without an enforcement mechanism outside of the Democratic Party there is very little to create any kind of actual accountability and there is nothing but unlimited reward for participation and substance-less posturing.
Wonder what the PSL is up to! Wish them nothing but good things.
Curious where everyone is besides sick of this. WHO gives a fuck! It’s Maine! Hardly anyone lives there! Have you ever seen a black fly? Too scary in general this is just par for the course

I’m in the same boat. Don’t live there, not my circus.
I am happy to see his working class messaging resonating, that is a good thing. I’ll remain hopeful that he helps pull the overton window more to the left. Ultimately I just want my queer kids to not be under direct threat from the government so I will take imperfect allies where I can.
Working class messaging is when you take pride in massacring members of the working class on behalf of the bourgeoisie 🥴
I said this before, but as a non american it is pretty clear that my entire family can be tortured to death and all of my supposed self-proclaimed comrades not only won’t care in the slightest but will actively make sure the perpetrators will gain power and fame while they don’t show a single gram of remorse.
The county where I live is guilty of so many crimes all over the world, but never ever would someone like that murderous freak be able to get a position of power in any party that presents itself on the left but no one in america seems to consider anyone else as human living beings.
So yeah, it’s obvious that any future with the usa is impossible and any political “opposition” only cares about their circle getting healthcare or something lame like that. Utterly cucked, completely complicit and 0 hope for a future.
If this is really the groundwork for americans of being a socialist, then american socialists are my enemy.
I understand where your coming from but you don’t seem too interested in my point of view.
The option in that particular race is someone who enables Trump and those who pull his strings or someone that won’t. An area that is 3,000 miles away from where I live, that’s like the fucking Alantic ocean between me and those voters. What are you reallt expecting from me in this situation? Genuine question.
The kids, not just mine but the vast majority of their peers are way more radicalized than anyone was when I was their age. It is a huge priority for me to help nurture and give context to the world they are growing up in so that we have more people engaged in making changes in this country so that we stop fucking around in other countries.
Me on the other hand I’m happy to see war crime messaging resonating
