We were planning to visit the village of Ras ‘Ein al-’Auja in the northern West Bank. But three weeks before the trip, all 700 residents of the village fled due to violence from nearby settlers. When we drove through the ruined remains of the village, we saw groups of Israeli settlers having a picnic.

We were able to visit the village Fasa’il al-Wusta in the Jordan Valley. When we visited, six out of eight families had fled. Two weeks later, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) demolished the home of the family we visited. Now only one of those families is left.

As the world’s attention is fixed on the war that President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu started with Iran, Israel’s far-right government is quietly pursuing full-scale annexation in the West Bank. What we saw was a microcosm.

News has become the old Slowpoke meme because they aren’t actually doing journalism anymore with very few exceptions

This is a seriously reductive take on the surge in settler violence in the West Bank since the ceasefire in Gaza. Maybe you can add something to the thread than just dismissing the article as old news.

The “ceasefire” is already relatively long ago.

Israel is 100% following the nazi guidelines, and adding some more on top. There is no surprise because they are doing everything that is expected, and was to expect long, long ago.

I’m not dismissing the article as old news, I’m complaining that articles are all pretending to be shocked when this is completely expected and proves that countries that do nothing are completely complicit.

I want articles saying instead “Israelian genocide intensifies as western countries show no care”.

Pretending that every new thing that happens is “oh no, now things are starting to begin to maybe become bad” doesn’t help anything.

Seriously reductive perhaps, yet 100% true and old news, no reason to dictate anybody’s reaction in my opinion but you do you.

Could you leave a list of acceptable responses to news articles that you approve? We’ll try to accommodate your needs.

ALSO THE SAYING IS “A FEW BAD APPLES SPOIL THE BUNCH”

Literally. You put a bunch of apples in a container and a couple of them are rotten, the others are going to spoil too.
