Eh, once you do the hard part of figuring out what you have to do, re-coding isn’t usually that bad.
Now data entry. Oof. I’ve lost two hours of progress there before and that never gets better
It feels very bad at first tho
What kind of programmer goes 2 hours without compiling their code?
One that’s sick with blue-goo and suffering from unique corpo-world stress.
What you never git reset --hard @{u}'d on a branch with unsynced commits?
i once almost lost 2 hours of work by making my make clean target delete the source code instead of the output. luckily i hadn’t closed vim so i was able to just save it again
There are two types of people in this world
Those who have never experienced unrecoverable data loss
And those who have backups
Im getting sick of thunder

It’s a Lemmy.zip thing, no image embeds work from their domain.
I think it’s because all of their images require a cloudfare check.
@Demigodrick@lemmy.zip is this something you’re aware of?
Checking on my end, things load fine in Voyager, but post images fail in Sync and Eternity, even signed in

Images are now explicitly bypassing the cloudflare challenge, so it won’t be this.
Most likely, those two apps don’t support AVIF images. Having checked them out, Eternity is abandoned and Sync is
not confirmed abandoned but the community thinks it is, and it hasn’t been updated in over a year, so likely these apps shouldn’t be used anyway!Edit: Sync is abandoned too. relevant links:
Make sense, thanks for checking!
@Kowowow@lemmy.ca it looks like Thunder is still actively supported. Might be worth checking with their dev(s) to see if AVIF is supported?
Huh I didn’t think I was going to cause people to check stuff I just felt like grumbling but ya it’s not like it only happens here so I might as well bug them
I’m primarily using Alexandrite, though, which is just a frontend running through the browser, Firefox in my case.
AVIF images seem to work fine on Alexandrite, i’ve tested on a.lemmy.zip, a.lemmy.world, and alexandrite.app, which all load the thumbnail. If you’re hitting a cloudflare challenge to view images still, I’d be keen to check that out further as the challenge should bypass images.
🤔
