From Three Rivers Avian Center
The 3 baby barred owls from Cabell county are growing and doing great! They are now starting to feed themselves, and are being looked after by our Barred owl Ambassadors Riffle and Willow.
Previous week:

On Friday, we received 3 young barred owl chicks from Cabell county. Their nest tree had been felled. We are grateful for the help of a neighbor who rescued them, harbored them overnite and got them to Animal Care Associates in Charleston first thing in the morning. They are doing really well! Please, please, we are in nesting season for both birds and bats. Their populations are declining. Unless a tree is a direct threat to you or your equipment/vehicle, PLEASE stop cutting trees now. Cutting trees can resume in the late fall when the migratory birds have left along with the bats.

I had not seen that before! 😳
That was a huge rock that guy tossed at that seal, and I would have loved to give him some instant karma myself. I am happy the local gov handled the situation with proper judgement.
The other morning, I saw a deer had been hit on one side of the road, but on the other, 2 fox kits had also been hit, likely trying to go have a deer snack. They were off on the shoulder though, not in the road, so it seems in those situations to have been intentional, and that always makes me so angry. Someone that would do that is not someone I would like to share physical space with.
Anyone participating in intentional cruelty, I have no reservations with them being visited by an Ambassador of Aloha. 😠
That is so sad 😢 I understand your feelings. Intentional cruelty is also something I don’t take kindly to.
Amen.
