To be fair - the ruins are prime real estate for some wild animals. The goose was there first and if I'm not mistaken had already started laying eggs when Tristan and Isolde came back for this season.
And it's true that the owls seem to have seen "chicks" first and therefore not identified them as dangerous or potential prey. Tristan actually taking food to their nest is kind of cute. In this case I prefer and kind of admire his fatherly ambitions. They are definitely prepared to take care of their own chicks. I have seen at least three eggs.














I've seen footage of goslings and duck chicks jumping down several feet from balconies, trees and other high places. It seems kind of common for their parents to seek out higher places. And it sure looks scary every time I see chicks jump down from those heights!
