Fighting for the right to make memes about social issues rather then actively doing something. 💪💪

I’m kidding, we need to do more but all to there own means. Memes are communication and the first step to solve any problem is by communicating and talking about it.

What’s wrong with suburbs? I mean it’s odd to me, but i would still prefer it over living in a dense city.

There are more than two possibilities, plus you may not know if you’ve never lived there.

I’ve appreciated living in rural areas, suburban, and downtown areas for different parts of my life. Currently I’m suburban but not typical American suburb. As a town built out long before the automobile, we have a more concentrated town center and mixed use neighborhoods with lots of things in easy walking distance. I live in a single family rom on a street if similar but can walk to the town center with pretty much every grouped together. Or the elementary school is for the neighborhood and was a very easy walk when my kids were little. Similar to a park and playing fields, and a spray park. I have a short walk to a convenience store but usually prefer the longer walk to a full grocery. During COViD we started a tradition of walking to the center, grabbing a kebab and eating outside on the town Common.

What’s with the Funko Pops? They don’t seem inherently depressing like everything else in the image.

i like your question and hope this response helps you understand my perspective

imagine instead a wall of multicolored yarn. every child can knit their own character and have imaginary adventures that speak to their unique and diverse personalities. consider how much joy this would bring. and how cheaply it could be done

now, a dinosaur was exhumed from the earth and manufactured into this piece of plastic, modelled after a character owned by a media conglomerate. this piece of plastic is going to be put into a house, where it can sit there and collect dust. we can feel group affinity that we have all watched the same commodified story. each of these properties is copyrighted. we are legally prohibited from sharing our own interpretations of these characters… which means things drains out creativity like a black hole until it ends up in a landfill

oh, but its just harmless fun? sparks joy? please consider the implications of having a shelf of this crap. american homes are enormous. all that space that could maybe, perhaps, house some of the more than half a million homeless people in the us? maybe we can rebuild true community, that comes of being considerate about how we use the space around us?
