  • I'm sure sending out a list with none of the associated verification information wouldn't have any weaknesses to manipulation or falsification...

  • I really do hope they do what you say and shut down the government again over ICE. With luck they will only have to keep it shut down until the newly elected democrat majority house takes office in January.

  • And the house passed it 222-209. If you want to blame the 8 Senate Democrats that voted for the bill, go ahead (Durbin, King, Hassan, Shaheen, Cortez Masto, Rosen, Fetterman, and Kaine),but blaming all of them is nonsense. Republicans are by far the problem and pretending there is no difference is delusional.

  • They were still doing that during the shutdown. The shutdown didn't impact ICE at all.

  • Democrats voted against the bill. They didn't have enough votes to stop it and they realistically couldn't keep the government shut down til the end of the year. That would be a bigger disaster to Americans than the bill itself. Why are you giving Republicans a free pass on responsibility?

  • So first you said they voted in favor of the bill which I proved was a lie. Then you moved the goalposts to say "well, they didn't fight hard enough" when you admit they literally shut down the government to stop the bill. Why are you so mad at Dems when you are giving Republicans a free pass?

  • Which budget bill besides the OBBB was passed in 2025?

  • Standard divide and conquer tactics. If they can keep Democrats fighting each other, the Republicans can continue their business uninterrupted.

  • I knew the first reply would be about a US centric comment.

  • I fully expect to see a similar headline about the US in the next 3 years.

  • I bet there isn't a line of reporters signing up to get shot in the head by ICE. A "Press" badge is just a bullseye for them.

  • Denmark?

  • I forget what they are called, but there is basically a parachute on a rope that gets dropped into fast deep water currents to tow boats.

  • I don't do it as often as I should, but I like making a big batch of soup or stew and freezing it in portion size containers.

  • I wonder if this is in any way tied to the news of Russia firing "nuclear capable" missile into Ukraine. Maybe that was a warning the next one will have a live warhead. If this government knew something like that was coming, they would definitely try and keep it secret as long as possible.

  • The critical point will be when the elections are cancelled. If that is allowed, the only thing to do will be to run. I fear this country has put safety over everything, even freedom, for too long.

  • 45: $20,000 in sinus surgery so you aren't halfway suffocating while you sleep.

  • Exactly. You can't talk to them about law or ethics because that doesn't matter compared to their fear.
