I think it probably speaks more to older generations. Those that grew up watching Carson etc. Anyone born this century, never really experienced these shows and formats at the height of their relevance to culture. Similar could be said for daytime talk shows. There’s still a few. They keep Maury animated these days. And springer’s security still has his show I think. There’s even one or two new ones. But nothing like the 80s an early 90s.
