    You know that all this military expenditure, all these weapons, drones, tanks, missiles and planes can only mean one thing in the future: peace of course. So much peace, a very strong peace.

    The three top spenders — the United States, China and Russia — spent a combined total of $US1.48 trillion, just over half of global expenditure.

    Unfortunately not a new development, mainly due to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and an increasingly assertive China which in recent years has been engaging in the largest peacetime military buildup in history, according to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
