Fuck Politico, Axel Springer and Döpfner. Don’t share, don’t click.
I ddon’t get this… Most political articles I read(through reddit) are very favorable to EU or somewhat just telling what’s happening. What’s the problem with this article for example?
The problem is the owner of Politico. Axel Springer SE is like the Nestlé of western media and its CEO, Mathias Döpfner, generally wants to strengthen right wing and neoliberal politics.
Ihhave no idea who this guy is, but as I said, the articles I read are more pro EU than not. At least that’s how I see them
If I stopped interacting with any content made people that have another political view than me there would be a lot less variety and possibility for more nuanced opinions since I would just see my bubble. I can see viewing this content critically but you comment like this under literally any politico link no matter the content. Its pretty annoying tbh
Feel free to block me. Sorry, but I’ve been through this discussion often enough.
Look…I’m not saying forever. But for now, just do whatever France and Spain say.
They’re the only ones in this whole fucking debacle that aren’t trying to hedge their bets by licking Trump’s peen while slowly taking only measures that won’t trigger him.
They’re the only ones who have very correctly realized that the U.S. needs the E.U. far more than the E.U. needs them.
Each EU nation will be receiving individual and group threats from the Trump team if they seek to implement these reasonable Sunrise and Sunset safety measures. Having the world rely upon the US is the only way they can maintain their empire.
However, after US President John F. Kennedy expressed his displeasure about this to the West German ambassador to the United States, the Bundestag ratified the treaty with a preamble which called on France and West Germany to pursue tight cooperation with the United States; the eventual admission of the United Kingdom to the EEC; the achievement of a free trade accord in the framework of the GATT; and for the West’s military integration in NATO under US leadership.[10] This effectively emptied the Treaty of any sense (in Gaullist understanding) and put end to General de Gaulle’s hopes of building the EEC into a counterweight to the US and the USSR.
Parliament - > elected Commission - > not
Seems like an easy choice, revise the deal, the people’s representation wants it revised.
