They are here to protect the people. Yes, the system needs to be improved and the cops need to be trained properly and transparency has to be increased. Its just I still think the executive needs someone to enforce laws. Judiciary and legislature are nothing without that aspect so stop being so condescending to those who defended democratically elected representatives back then against the mob.

Its really stupid. We need to work together in a country anyways to accomplish anything meaningful. While I don’t think the label far left is fit for dems I think this us vs them mentality definitely makes for a less constructive discussion

I think its funny how they keep bringing up democrats and say they are the far left end of the horseshoe. In my country dems would be considered center-right. I do not think they are like radical at all so I think thats why the comic is oversimplified.

I just think if we long term want to build a stable system that works for everybody we can’t just keep rerolling dice hoping a revolution would magically fix it all. I like my politics boring if it gets the job done and keeps improving and iterating on a better system

Far left is mostly also authoritarian. They say they want everyone to have the same rights but get angry or try to silence people that don’t agree with their radical ways. I’m not talking about the left in general but the far left. As such they see it needed to achieve their goals, even if it official is equality for example.

Edit: Removed “Tankies definitely are authoritarian.” They are kinda a weird case where they believe or say they believe in Marxist Leninist ideology but then support countries that dress as communist even if they are ruled by a small elite or are actually mostly capitalist. I believe they are kinda gullible far left with mostly a “US bad” sentiment so China and Russia must be good. They are not solely representative of far left authoritarianism

I don’t think we can speak of the word collaborator since up to now he has gained power completely legally and as long as you don’t help him carry out unconstitutional acts I don’t think this includes them.

In a country with democracy and rule of law giving up on the belief that murder is wrong as a matter of principle just because it fits your narrative. What would you say when a person you ideologically support gets murdered as they caused violent protests that align with your ideology. Would you be opposed to that.

Still he became CEO 2022 and many of those denial policies have been enacted internally before that. Hitler was the dictator and above the law. He made the law and was the only instance of power. If Brian Thompsons primary objective was to kill then I’d support it. But I don’t think it was. I think this system is at fault for it all the the politicians need to change it likes stated. The people in the government will now have to follow Trumps orders since he has the power to fire them and he wants to use it widely to replace them with yes-men. Yes the people working in the government are serving the people not the president. But you know he will get rid of people who won’t show him loyalty and for 4 years he’s kinda their boss. Maybe you could take a two way approach. Have a small set of default instances and then a button that gives the option to choose in the beginning. Like a mixed approach but I don’t like the idea of consolidation on the fediverse

The EU. I don’t use google search. I use a degoogled android rom firefox and only use the bare minimum of google search engines. I think the government should promote conditions where fair competition against google is actually possible.

I’m all for legislation that properly makes companies price in external effects. What I do not support is the state taking an active role in the market. Legislation is created for a reason but needs to be reformed and slimmed down once in a while. The government does not adjust fast enough imo and I think it should focus on core tasks instead of creating search engines.
