A restaurant near me used to make delicious chocolate cake but shut down during initial covid lockdowns. I love nora cooks but idk why i never thought to check for a chocolate cake recipe. Going to have to give this a try

Update: still don’t like chocolate cake but this one is definitely a great one. The default amount of icing makes a horrifying amount tho, fair warning; I used maybe 75% of it and still think it was too much icing personally

Looks like a slightly fancier “poor man’s chocolate cake” variation. By fancier I mean uses apple sauce and soy milk. So fancy! Which is great. By all means if you need a cake and have applesauce this is probably excellent.
When do you not need a cake?
Honestly, this is plenty worth going out of your way to make even if you don’t have applesauce. It has a 4.96/5 with thousands of reviews for a reason
