    It wasn’t a revolution, it was a coup, and further it was anything but non-violent. An estimated 7 million people died around the world because of the sheer economic devastation and destruction of relied-upon safety nets.

      The coup was what tried to restore the old order that had just broken down on account of its own corruption and incompetence. And asking for sources on that claim of seven million dead would be bourgeois decadence, amirite?

        Nah, the coup was from the Yeltsin faction. The hardliners tried to save the union but failed to stop the coup. Here’s the source on the 7 million dead, it’s pretty common knowledge. Don’t know why you think sources are “bourgeois decadence.”
