(Turmeric makes a good natural yellow dye for lots of stuff. I get a little weird when I eat artificial dye, and, well, I’m a stereotypical Cold War era commie, I love the red and yellow Thing, I use turmeric as dye often. The taste is also mildly unpleasant to most neurotypical people, but neutral to positive depending what it’s mixed into for me, so dying foodstuff yellow is a trick I use to keep my housemates from stealing it. Same with beet juice for red, most of my housemates think beets are kinda gross, but I love that taste.)
