      The Iranian government is a brutal totalitarian regime who has murdered thousands. It is hard to feel sympathy for a government who is willing to slaughter thousands of their own people

        That’s true but it’s not relevant here. Iran could be the most democratic nation on Earth and it’d still be a pariah state for opposing Western interests. In fact we’re only two regime changes removed from the secular democratic Iran that was overthrown for opposing Western interests.
