Are you using a browser in a locale with a different date format? They might be using the default browser date parsing under the hood.
It’s probably this. That would be a fun oversight, though.
There isn’t a 27th month, so it’s invalid. What’s the issue?

Because you’re not reading it. The format says “MM/DD/YYYY”.
